The Phrase that Sucks is...
"Hydrogen Embrittlement."

--> Begin Learning Here

Yep, that's when your welding or chrome-plating process forces atomic hydrogen to disolve in a piece of high-strength alloy steel.  Atomic hydrogen is unhappy hydrogen, so any time two disolved hydrogen atoms meet they make a happy little hydrogen molecule.  Now you have gaseos hydrogen inside your metal.  If you get a tiny little pocket of hydrogen in your steel, it exerts a huge internal pressure on your work piece.  When stress well below the ultimate strength of the metal is applied to the work piece, it will catestrophically rupture (read: CRACK) due to the added hydrogen pressure stress.

Other phrases that suck are, "Tornado Warning" (we have one now in Aurora), "Declining home sales" (we have one now in Aurora), and "We've replaced Fred's regular hands with tiny hungry pigs.  Let's see what happens..."  (*oink*).
